What is the DNC Climate Council Earth Month Mobilization?

The DNC Environment and Climate Crisis Council is a permanent entity of the DNC, created in 2019 to ensure the Democratic Party takes bold, ambitious action on the climate crisis and other environmental issues. The Council's newest project is to empower Democratic Party environmental organizations in the U.S. and abroad to uplift Democratic voices, experiences and organizations and the need for climate and environmental justice action now, through a national Earth Month: The Time to Act is Now mobilization.

Devastation caused by the climate crisis is already underway: Wildfires in California. Hurricanes and rising seas on our coasts. Flooded farms and homes in the Midwest. Blackouts in Texas. And it's getting worse. We're talking with Democrats across the county, to understand the environmental issues of local communities and how federal policy can best address them. We are helping to spur the needed urgency in Washington and around the country for action. There isn't a moment to waste.

How will hosting an event make a difference?

It’s crucial. We will need everyone possible to face down the environmental and climate challenges of our time. Hosting events helps build community, bring new people into the movement, and spread awareness about what issues are at stake and the many ways to take action on those issues.
